The Bosses of Raft

The General Bosses

In the survival game Raft, players encounter four primary boss creatures throughout the story islands, each requiring a distinct approach to conquer. The first major hurdle is Mama Bear on Balboa Island. This massive beast possesses a staggering 750 health points, making her the "tankiest" enemy in the game. While she can be taken down with a high volume of metal arrows, she is designed primarily as a territorial obstacle. Players often bypass the risk of her devastating melee attacks by using wild blueberries as a distraction to sneak into her cave for essential blueprints.

Caravan Town

As the story progresses to Caravan Town, players encounter the White Screecher. Unlike other bosses, this variant of the standard boulder-dropping bird is often considered more of a unique encounter than a high-stakes challenge, as it possesses relatively low health. It serves more as an environmental hazard while players navigate the verticality of the island. However, the difficulty spikes significantly at Varuna Point with the Rhino Shark. This boss is immune to traditional weapons; instead, players must engage in an underwater "bullfight," baiting the shark into ramming structural pillars and detonating explosive barrels to damage it across three distinct levels.

The Final Boss

The final confrontation occurs at Utopia against Alpha, a massive mutant hyena. This fight is the most mechanically complex, featuring a boss that changes behavior based on its environment and the actions of the primary antagonist, Olof. Alpha can leave trails of toxic acid and enters brief states of invulnerability signaled by a glowing green mane. Defeating Alpha requires consistent movement and "kiting" with a bow to avoid its lunges, ultimately concluding the game's narrative arc and securing the safety of the survivors.
